| An ancient market town on a hill beside the River Parrett, which flows
below the main street. East of the church, an archway spans the road,
carrying a small chapel, the Hanging Chapel, built for a medieval craft
guild. Having served as a grammar school, it is now a meeting place of
Freemasons. |
